In today’s challenging economy many people here in the United States are beginning to take advantage of our free enterprise country and beginning to look at the possibilities of starting there very own business. What are the steps to starting your own business and what are some of the very important questions that you should be asking yourself before, during and after your business is off the ground? I’ve heard it said once before, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I believe in this concept and would highly recommend using it to help you decide in what makes you happy when it comes to your choice of business to be involved in.

9 Steps to Starting Your Own Business

Step 1: Pick an industry that interests you and that you have a passion in.

Step 2: Choose a business name and website address.

Step 3: Write a detailed business plan.

Step 4: File for a fictitious business name with your cities county clerks’ office.

Step 5: Open a business banking account.

Step 6: Create marketing material (business cards, flyers, website, and brochures).

Step 7: Decide on a place of business (offline and/or online).

Step 8: Create a system to track all spending and earnings.

Step 9: Talk to everyone about your business.

Depending on your type of business that you decide to open will change these steps. In my business ventures I have found that the above steps were offended used and helped my business to succeed and stay on track.

9 Questions to Ask When Starting a New Business

Question 1: Why do you want to start your very own business venture?

Question 2: What is going to help keep you focused?

Question 3: Why will people want to work with you?

Question 4: How are you going to charge for your services or what are they worth?

Question 5: How will people find you once you open your doors?

Question 6: How will your life be different in your first year in business?

Question 7: Will you have anyone sell your product or services or will you do it all?

Question 8: Who will pay you for your work?

Question 9: Who else will you need to help run your business?

Of course there will be a number of other questions that will arise as you begin to build and run your business. The above 9 questions will help to get the ball rolling and open your mind to some other questions may help you learn more about your business and what its going to take to become and stay successful in your new venture. Starting your own business is a dream of many people in America and the reason why many have traveled across the world to America to have this dream come true for them. Ask the right questions, follow the steps and do your homework and you to can be living your dreams, rather than building the dream of someone else!
